Picture of the day
Eymet, located on the banks of the Rivière Droit, occupies a strategic position between Marmande and Bergerac but also halfway between St Emilion and Sarlat. A claimed rurality while maintaining proximity to major tourist attractions.
Deeply rooted in the South-West of France, where “good living” is the rule, Eymet likes, with a touch of Occitan accent, to bring its many assets to light: they concern its facilities as much as its heritage, its associative fabric, its social mix, the many activities offered or even its festive spirit and its conviviality… And its preserved landscapes, where winegrowers and farmers produce quality products.
Bergerac (Bergerac, France) is distinguished by its historical and heritage treasures. The city of Cyrano is also classified as a City of Art and History and has been able to enhance the value of the Dordogne River. This river, born on the plateau of a thousand cows, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a long time, it was a commercial and economic axis for Bergerac and the entire Dordogne valley. As early as the Middle Ages, wines produced in Bergerac joined Libourne and were exported mainly to England and the northern European countries.
Bergerac is a sub-prefecture of the Dordogne and has 30,000 inhabitants. This makes it the second largest city in the department. A tourist destination renowned for its craftsmen, its gastronomy and its sweetness of life, Bergerac is a welcoming place. Located at the southern gateway to the Périgord, it is an essential link between the north of the country and the Pyrenees.
Cyrano de Bergerac allows the city to be known throughout the world as well as the thirteen wine appellations which alone summarize the different characteristics of this territory.
